Lonesome Roadie
What is Lonesome Roadie Productions?
just testing...
Lonesome Roadie Productions is a video production company that was started in 1996 in Albert Lea, Minnesota. It was founded by Jim Schneider, Dave Haugland, and me (Paul Robertson). We produced a monthly local access TV show about local and national rock and roll music, called just testing... (later known as Soundcheck). The show aired on cable systems in southeastern Minnesota, and also over KSMQ-TV (PBS) in Austin, Minnesota. Later on, we expanded to create corporate videos as well. The show last aired in 2001. Sadly, Dave passed away in 2014.
Throughout the run of just testing, we recorded many local Minnesota and Iowa bands live on stage, mostly performing their original songs. To this, we added music videos from national acts, and occasional interviews with the likes of: Glen Buxton, Weird Al Yankovic, Joe Satriani, 38 Special, Sevendust and more. It was a fricken blast!! And on this site, I'll be sharing various stories of our experiences through the years. Hopefully you'll enjoy the read.
Eventually, we plan to get most of our old shows available on YouTube. Until then, you can see some excerpts, and plenty of other stuff, on the Lonesome Roadie Facebook page. (For the record, that page is maintained by Jim Schneider.)
